Frequently asked questions
What is MCI Foundation?
MCI Foundation (mci.foundation) is the academic and experiential programmes portal of Meridian Conflux Inc. (经纬汇学). It runs mentored research programmes, international competition coaching and summer schools for students in Grades 8–12.
Who mentors the research programmes?
University faculty, postdoctoral and doctoral researchers in the student’s chosen field. Mentors are matched after an interview so that the research question genuinely fits the student’s interests and level.
Do students need prior research experience?
No. Programmes begin with methods training. What matters is curiosity, commitment and enough subject foundation for the chosen field, which we assess at interview.
Do the programmes help with university admissions?
Every programme ends in verifiable work — a paper, competition result or project — plus a mentor evaluation. Students working with our admissions team at mci.ceo integrate these directly into their application strategy.
Are programmes taught in English?
Yes, all programmes are taught in English. Parent communication and support are available in both Chinese and English.
